Lavender rivulets of months past

without you are barely visible in my rear vision.

Unexamined memories dissolve and travel

through capillaries searching for a vision to release them.

Moods meander to a steady inflection now,

circulation having replaced detachment.

Beyond the pain I will have dislodged
all that has held me, to dream afresh.

Perhaps I will long for the warmth

of that moulding clay that

couldn't emerge from its form,

but then I will choose to move forward.

Yielded in surrender, liberty's entrance

will transform into the brightest day

overflowing with promise and song

that on the river bank I scarcely imagined.

And their liklihood go under a microscope
When darkness enters each day sooner
And my hunger deepens for substance

And my intentions need compelling
When magnolias find debris in waxy splendour
And I spend all day mulling over tomorrows decisions.

Dawn Breakthrough

If I had been told how long
the darkness before dawn would linger
I may not have set an early alarm.
This resistant part of me needs
a trick of my own making
to be cojoled into suffering the
necessary loss of each day.
I need a spark of adrenalin
to ride upon the rhythm of a
quickening heartbeat, or else
I would not arrive at this place
where stars give way to dawn -
a strengthening light that urges
me to accept the pain
of night in rawness and gratitude
and believe again that in my day
promises will come to pass.

Fullness

This is how I came to be here
with the spaces inside of me having
been filled, emptied and filled again
with a substance like nutrition -
smoky and seamless.
I feel as though I am a remnant of
what I once knew,
and the introduction to the new
is a daily adventure.

The remnant remains unchanged,
but much has been added,
stripped, grieved and replaced.
Somehow, this mapless terrain
is home to me despite it's diverse landscape.
This is how I came to be here now,
where I was supposed to be,
whole, fragile and altogether lovely.

upon newly charred territory.

in mourning and in joy,

where we spin about wildly knowing

We can only go from glory to glory.

I see daisies springing forth into life
from rich soils of community and art.
I see you belonging to a tribe
sustained by living lyrics.
I see the miracle of oneness marked by
a creative and melodic force.
I envision a hedge of protection like a
sheltering canopy of prayers and songs,
always holding you dear and close.
Let the words you share
come from beyond this territory's view,
like a tonic that flows from the throne
and returns to the dwelling place of your hearts.
Hand in hand
may you soar with the swallows into the fullness
of these promised places.
Now it is time now for a new story
and the scroll is a blank page beckoning
you to fill it from the moutaintops.
And here we stand watching as
the gates are flung wide open
for the long and final season of love.

The woman is awake and dressed now,
touched by the sound of
laughter she has found her place,
quite unlike the beginning.
She stands on the deck of a ship
and as though a live instrument,
she sways to an intuitive rhythm
moving on a hydraulic sound wave.

She watches excitedly for the light

to shine on the ships coming in and

She strains to watch them multiply.

Her eyes are closed in gratitude

to be here for such a time as this.

To participate in the great unfolding

of promises in the present hour!

With building astonishment

she attempts to remain

poised while dancing like a dandelion

under the magnitude of truth.

For this has she searched

and longed, impatiently knowing
we are all here to live as though it has
been purchased in entirety.

Before me Your light breaks forth
on this city sparkling with spring rain.
Your promises are ensured
in refracted brilliant mist, my rear guard.
I am enthralled that You are here
in the thousand applauding fig leaves,
in the warm wind on my upturned face,
in a word of life from my father
in the laying down of it all.
I delight to discover
Your surprising dwelling place,
Your presence is the call of the wild.
Within your courts You reveal such beauty.
I see a world turned upside down
By the seven tiered waterfall of your love.
I see the battle scrolls plotting revival wave’s courses
I see the freedom coming swiftly,
names and faces removed from four walls.
And what comes through the barrel of the wave
is a bride that knows Your face,
the face she can’t live without gazing upon,
the eyes that evaporate iniquity,
that shake and revive a tired earth to dance
and return a song that is pleasing to Your ear.

I am submerged in a glorious river
floating swiftly in opened posture,
arms and hair flung backward
watching for You on the horizon.

I am travelling directly to
Your heart as You welcome me
beyond this world, to eternal landscapes
encrusted with stunning jewels.

Here there is more light than colour,
more flight than sleep,
more fragrance than wind,
more movement than rapids.

I sink beyond turbulent currents
making room for Your authority.
You invite me to read a new script,
a sonnet of ten fold restoration.

You exchange tears for intimacy,

making lovely even charred dreams.

You paint life into to dark corners
Where You call the wild 'closer still'.

In the warm embrace of this
joyful flow I am undone.
And in the dangers of release,
pursued by my first love again.

Californian Redwoods

Finally I have come to the forest of the Saints.
I bow down inside,
moved to awe under their worship.
I sharply draw in new oxygen
struggling to keep a metered breath,
and step so gently
I can hear my heart beating below.
How can I wake these sleeping giants?
They are more alive in their slumber than
I have ever been in my waking.
They are towers that will not be broken
down by all they weather.
They stand solemnly in the fog
of dawns morning hour.
I notice that their immensity
was not achieved by standing
too close together but by growing upward,
all life given from on high.
I stand on foliage made of perished seedlings
that tried to grow in each others shadow
instead of into their Maker's light
and they teach and teach...

Carpets of luminescent green clothe
like a five o'clock shadow on an endless face,
disguising a covering of tough ancient skin.
They are solid in their foundation
rising in breezy freedom and
increasing vulnerability.
I want to experience them
with every sense I was given.
My desire to be closer
compels me to burrow into a
flame shaped home at the base.
Cobwebs fuse to dewy lashes and a
strange warmth rises bringing adrenaline
and goosebumps to my surface.
I close my eyes and
am reminded in the dark what I
am searching for in the light.
I open my eyes and as they accustom to the
light and the dark and so does my heart.
I am full again.
Brimming with all that I need to go on.
There is such wisdom in
these mighty pillars who faithfully stand
to remind us what we await.

I have only to listen to beckoning Spirit
To give voice to bursting elation,
as I soar upward to dive deeper and
drink of living waters freedom.

No one is lost in loving
without love we have nothing at all.
We hold out open hands, without counting our cost,
and step forth toward Your call.

Drink deeply to shine with My countenance,
Let the rising glow enfold the darkness.

My grace flows endlessly,
awakening my sons and daughters to
My gaze, it is fixed on you.

You little ones changing out of
your rags and afflictions
to stand naked before me.

I will dress you in garments of gold
and blush velvet, draping My banner of love
over you soaked in the precious blood.

You will sing over one another
with playful joy, cleansing the burdens

you have carried from hands other than My own.

I will show you how the planters
of generations blossom in you,
shaking the ground with cries for your freedom.

You who know the name I call you by,
who know the sound of My
voice through the veil of many sounds.

You who look upon my face,
I am yours my beloved,
You are known.
